Deeply Rooted

It brings myself and fellow IBAB Art Committee members great joy in curating yet another exhibition to spotlight eighteen artists of the South Bay. For Deeply Rooted artists' share their connection to nature through their original drawings, acrylic, oil & watercolor paintings, mixed media art, and photography. Guest Juror Ali Jay, of Ali J. Consultancy Gallery in North County, helped us pick our award recipients during the Opening Reception on November 4, 2023: 

First Place: Laura Green for "Allen's Hummingbird" in acrylic

Second Place: Kelsey Worth for "To Be Seen" - in watercolor

Third Place: Tom Csanadi for "Estuary" - in pastel

Honorable Mention: Penelope Quinn for "Boho Kraken and The Crown" - in mixed media

The exhibition will be on view from from November 4, 2023 until February 29th, 2024 during Open Community Room hours (usually between 11am - 5pm) in the Imperial Beach Library.
